Our
Dentists
Dr. Greg Jansen, Dr. Edwin Mueller, and Dr. Martin Long
Dr. Martin
Long and Dr. Edwin Mueller were classmates in dental school at the
University of Alberta, and they have been close friends since then.
They joined their forces and skills together in 1987 to develop the
St. Albert Dental Centre.
They
shared a vision of a family practice dedicated to providing gentle,
state-of-the-art dentistry.
Dr. Martin
Long is an avid golfer, and is still hoping the NHL scouts will
catch his play on Friday afternoon dental hockey. He loves to spend
his spare time with his wife and two daughters.
Dr. Edwin
Mueller enjoys running, skiing, and travelling with his wife and
three sons. He is also a Mac computer addict.
Dr. Greg
Jansen graduated from the University of Saskatchewan, moved to St.
Albert over 20 years ago, and has been friends of both doctors
since then. He has recently joined the practice with the same
philosophy of excellence and thoughtful attention and care to each
patient .
Dr. Jansen is active in sports
such as hockey and golf and spends time at his cabin with his wife
and three children.
With over 60 years of combined
clinical experience, Dr. Long, Mueller, and Jansen continue to
strive for state-of-the-art treatment by attending numerous dental
conferences and continuing education seminars each
year.
Our Excellent and Friendly
Staff

The
Dental Hygienists
Our four Registered Dental Hygienists, Genvieve, Vivian,
Patty and Terry, work in conjunction with the dentists to
prevent and treat dental disease to help keep your mouth and you
healthy.
The dental
hygienists are registered to clean your teeth, evaluate your oral
health and discuss with you the importance of caring for your teeth
and gums at home. They can also help explain the relationship
between your oral health and your total body
health.
The dental
hygienist may do a basic exam of your teeth and gums, and will
inform your dentist about the results of the exam. In our office,
our hygienists are also trained to perform an oral cancer screen
with Velscope or
ViziLite,
new devices which spot cancer more effectively than conventional
exams.
Vivian,
Patty, Genvieve , or Terry may take X-rays, make dental
impressions, clean and polish, may desensitize your teeth, and may
apply fluoride to your teeth. They also can now treat gum disease
with lasers!
The
Dental Assistants
We have 5
highly trained Registered Dental Assistants in our practice:
Phyllis, Michelle, Carol, Sherry, and Dragica. Gillian is also
training in our office to become a Registered Assistant.
The dental
assistant helps the dentist during patient examinations and
treatment procedures. They sterilize dental instruments, may take
x-rays, digital pictures, make dental impressions, and polish and
apply fluoride and sealants to your teeth.
Two of our
assistants are trained in the use of whitening products,
including Zoom treatment.
