With the exception of 6 months in Saskatoon following graduation, Dr. Jansen maintained a private practice on Jasper Avenue for 22 years. In 2008, Dr Jansen sold the Edmonton practice to reduce his work hours. A lunch with Dr Mueller and Dr Long was all it took to find a great dental office to begin the next phase of his dental career.
As a general dentist, he continues to practice all phases of dentistry. He does gain particular satisfaction when he helps a child or young adult with proper orthodontic development. He has also served as a clinical instructor at the U of Alberta Dental School for approximately 8 years. One avenue that dentistry opened up for him was in the area of mission work. To date, he has done 5 dental missions (all in Central America.)
Dr Jansen enjoys a variety of sports. He has played hockey his whole life, and enjoys the regular Friday game with a group of dentists in Edmonton. He enjoys running and he has 3 marathons, several half marathons and various other races under his belt. He has also enjoyed curling for over 25 years.
